
OUR TERMS
Here's our home staging terms and conditions, when you get savvy.
1. Ownership – Furnishings and accessories supplied by us in for Home Staging remain our property at all times. You agree not to remove such items from the staged property address without our prior written consent.
2. Display use – You agree that the items supplied by us for the service are for display purposes only and not for general use. Selection and placement of these items within the property shall be at our discretion.
3. Keys and alarms – On commencement of the service, you agree to provide us with entry keys, alarm codes, and access instructions, to enable us free access to the property under such times as we may require it.
4. Access – Our team will be bringing in large furniture items and accessories and require clear access to driveways and entrances. We need to ensure our staff can lift and move heavy objects without risk of injury to themselves or others, or your property. On the agreed date of install, if clear access is not possible, we reserve the right to postpone to a later date for installation at a time that suits us.
5. Damage to hired furnishings – If, while under your care, our furniture or furnishings get damaged, you are required to advise us as soon as possible. We understand that accidents happen, and always try and be fair. We do however charge for avoidable damage under these circumstances. Examples of this include incidents such as food or drink spills, soiled furnishings, cigarette smoke, damage caused by paint, pets, vermin, adhesives, trade work, substances walked onto rugs, and breakages caused by moving items around. Charges may include cleaning or repair costs, or replacement costs where the item cannot be restored to the state it was provided.
6. Insurance – While very rare, vacant homes can be a target for burglary, or damaged due to fire or natural disaster. If you take up our Savvy Insurance plan you have peace of mind knowing you are covered against replacement costs for our furnishings stored in your property, with no insurance excess. If you do not take up Savvy Insurance our standard insurance still covers you, but in the event of a loss there is a $2500 burglary, fire, or natural disaster insurance excess payable by You.
Definitions: “us”, “our”, or “we”, means Savvy Home Staging. “You”, “your”, or “customer”, means the Customer named on this invoice. “the service” or “service”, means Home Staging services provided by Savvy Home Staging.
7. The act of staging – We treat our customers property with as much care as possible to avoid damage and agree to remedy avoidable damage that is clearly caused by our staff in the act of installing and removing large furniture items. However, you also accept that the act of installing and removing furnishings can create minor blemishes to fixtures such as carpet or hard surfaces where minor indentations or natural sun fading may occur. You also accept that small marks to walls will occur where mirrors and artwork are requested to be hung – please advise us prior if you do not want any wall hangings installed.
8. Payment & invoicing – We require payment prior to commencement of the service. Any subsequent hire term extensions (Renewals) if required require payment within 7-days.
9. Minimum Charges – Home Staging aims to present your property to potential buyers to help it sell faster. If that results in your house selling in under a week or within the first month, then it has done its job. This is why we charge a minimum initial hire term. Our initial fee includes furniture selection, planning, logistics, delivery, styling, and removal. If you need to extend your hire term, we offer a fortnightly hire period extension at a reduced rate, please see Renewals.
10. Removals - Once your property sells or you choose to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange removal at a convenient time.
11. Urgency fee - Where you require urgent removal of furniture that results in less than three (3) business days’ notice to us, an urgency fee of $250+GST will apply, due to the increase in costs we occur under these circumstances. You may of course cancel your agreement with us at any time, it is only urgent removal notices that incur this Urgency fee.
12. Renewals - We understand that no two property sales are the same! If your property does not sell in the first four weeks, for flexibility we offer a fortnightly renewal cycle at a reduced rate until your property sells, or until you choose to cancel (whichever comes first). Requests to install the service at a different address will result in a Minimum Charge. We reserve the right to not renew the hire term if your account is in arrears.
13. Cancellation - You may cancel your agreement with us at any time, but you must advise us in writing (TXT or email) prior to the renewal date. If you need items out of your property urgently, please refer to Removals and Minimum charges, above.
14. Refunds – If something changes before set-up commences and you wish to cancel your booking, please advise us at least 24 hours prior to receive full refund of any money paid.
15. Acceptance - You agree that delivery of our Service is acceptance of these terms and conditions. In providing the service to you, we also agree to operate under these terms and conditions.
