Across New Zealand, the median time to sell in August 2025 was 48 days, slightly faster than the same time last year. Excluding Auckland, the figure was 49 days, showing that while the market is active, buyers are taking their time to make decisions.

What About Manawatū?

Manawatū/Whanganui continues to perform well compared to many regions. According to REINZ, the region recorded one of the lowest median days to sell for August since 2021 (the market peak), with an average of 36 days on the market (Palmerston North, August 2025). This signals a strong buyer interest over these recent months, despite winter conditions.
